What this is.

A private memoir is not a lesser version of a published book. It is often a more honest one. Without a publisher's requirements, a publicist's concerns, or a market's expectations, the record can be complete. The difficult chapters included. The real decisions explained. The full truth told, to the people who deserve it.

This work is commissioned by the principal, owned entirely by the principal, and shared only at the principal's discretion. No portfolio entry is made without explicit written consent. In many cases, no portfolio entry is made at all.

It begins with a formal Non-Disclosure Agreement, before any discussion of content, scope, or the principal's identity. That is not a formality. It is the first act of the trust that the entire engagement depends on.

Who this is for.

Principals at the end of a significant institutional career

The minister who shaped a country's economic policy for a decade. The sovereign fund executive who built an institution from nothing. The development banker whose decisions moved capital across three continents. The record of what they actually did, not the public version, deserves to exist.

Business families approaching succession

The founding generation's story, told fully and honestly, before the knowledge it contains is lost. The decisions, the failures, the relationships, and the values, documented for the family members who will carry what was built.

Senior officials whose full story cannot be publicly told, yet

Some careers involve decisions, negotiations, and relationships that cannot be disclosed while the principals are still active. The private memoir captures the record now, completely, held in confidence until the timing is right. Or forever, if that is what is required.

Authors who want the truth told, privately first

A full private manuscript, completed and held, with the option to adapt it for publication later. The difference between what a publisher will accept and what actually happened is, in many careers, considerable. The private record closes that gap.

How it works.

01

First contact & NDA

Initial contact is acknowledged within 24 to 48 hours. Before any substantive conversation, before the principal's name, the scope, or a single detail of the project is discussed, a formal Non-Disclosure Agreement is executed. This is standard. There are no exceptions.

02

Deep-listening sessions

Every private memoir begins with extended conversations, not interviews in the journalistic sense, but structured, unhurried sessions designed to surface the authentic voice, the real priorities, and the full arc of what the principal has lived and built. These sessions continue over weeks or months, depending on scope. Nothing is rushed.

03

Structural architecture

Before a word of the manuscript is written, a complete structural framework is produced and submitted for approval. The shape of the narrative, what leads, what follows, what is given space, what is handled in passing, is agreed before drafting begins. This is where the real editorial work happens.

04

Drafting & refinement

The manuscript is written entirely in the principal's voice. Not an approximation of it, the actual voice, as heard across the listening sessions and verified at every stage of review. Revisions continue until the principal can read every page and recognise it, unreservedly, as their own.

05

Delivery & handover

The completed manuscript belongs entirely to the principal. All interview recordings, notes, and working drafts are returned or destroyed per the NDA provisions. What exists, at the end, is the manuscript, and nothing else.

Confidentiality

Private legacy mandates are subject to the strictest confidentiality provisions of any engagement undertaken here. No client is identified. No project is referenced. No work product is retained after delivery. The NDA governing these engagements is comprehensive and permanent, it does not expire at the end of the engagement.

The trust on which this work depends is not contractual. It is professional. The NDA formalises what is already understood from the first conversation.

Enquiries of this nature are handled with complete discretion from first contact.

Direct correspondence is preferred for private legacy enquiries.
